The customer uses robots on an automated assembly line to replace manual operations such as part loading and assembly. At the camshaft bearing shell loading station, parts inside the bin may shift slightly during transportation, resulting in uncertain incoming positions and orientations and affecting picking accuracy.
The ALSONTECH 3D vision system detects the 3D pose of each part and guides the robot to adjust its motion for accurate picking. Multiple parts can be detected in a single field of view, making it possible to use a custom gripper to pick several parts at once and meet downstream assembly requirements.
- Replaces robot positioning fixtures and eliminates the need for dedicated tray pockets, greatly improving workstation flexibility. - Supports multiple part types and fast changeovers without additional hardware, helping reduce cost and improve efficiency.
