The customer is a leading company in the construction machinery industry with high daily shipment volume. To increase production capacity, the customer introduced an automated robotic machining line. The rough-machined track rollers (half-wheel bodies) already have highly reflective surfaces, making recognition difficult. The parts are supplied in large bins with multiple stacked layers, requiring high recognition accuracy for edge parts and bottom-layer parts. When the gripper enters the bin to pick lower-layer parts, collision avoidance must also be considered.
By deploying the ALSONTECH 3D vision system, the customer achieved reliable detection of highly reflective parts and met the requirements for robotic picking accuracy and cycle time, enabling efficient machine tending.
