Project Background：

Track links are connecting components in the crawler structures of construction machinery such as excavators and bulldozers. Each part is heavy, and the customer requires a loading cycle time of no more than 10 seconds per part, which is difficult to achieve with manual handling. To automate this process, the customer introduced robots for automatic loading. However, since the track links are supplied in bins, their positions and orientations inside the bins are random, making part positioning a key challenge.

3D Vision Solution：

By deploying the ALSONTECH large-FOV 3D vision system, the customer enabled accurate robotic picking of track links. A linear-track installation allows one system to serve multiple bins, achieving efficient automated loading.

- Compensates for bin placement deviation and random part positions inside the bin. - The large-FOV 3D camera covers the entire bin in a single scan and maintains clear imaging even at the bin edges. - The laser 3D camera adapts well to changes in lighting, dust, temperature, and humidity, and is not affected by partial reflection, rust, or oil on the track links. - Replaces positioning fixtures, supports fast recognition of multiple track link variants, and enables quick changeovers and new product introduction. - Routine maintenance only, with automatic calibration, system service life ≥5 years.
