Ceramic Bathtub Drilling with 3D Vision
Customize Your Vision Solution

Project Background:

The customer is a high-end sanitary ware manufacturer producing various types of bathtubs that require drilling operations. The production environment is harsh, with high noise and strong vibration. To improve efficiency and reduce labor costs, the customer introduced robotic drilling.

3D Vision Solution:

- The drilling surface is curved with varying depth. The 3D vision system accurately locates the hole positions and provides the robot with the required drilling pose. - Strong vibration during drilling places high demands on the stability of the eye-in-hand 3D camera. ALSONTECH industrial 3D cameras use an integrated CNC-machined housing and a mature binocular design to maintain structural and imaging stability under vibration. - Ceramic glazed surfaces are reflective. ALSONTECH provides both laser and blue-light structured-light imaging solutions to capture reliable, high-quality point cloud data. - The system is highly integrated and easy to deploy. The software is no-code and easy to use.
- Routine maintenance only, system service life ≥5 years.

Customer Benefits:

- Automation improves drilling consistency and efficiency. - Reduces labor by 1–2 operators per workstation, lowering labor costs in high-intensity working environments.
